We're an enquiry and referral service, not a bird proofing specialist. With your consent, we pass your enquiry to an independent local bird proofing specialist. How it works

Bird Proofing FAQ (Launceston)

What is the difference between bird proofing and bird control?

Bird proofing is physical exclusion: mesh, netting, spikes and sealing. "Bird control" is a broader term that can include scaring, trapping or culling. We only refer proofing-style work.

Do you install bird proofing?

No. We are a referral service and pass your enquiry to one independent local business.

Which birds cause the most problems in Launceston?

Mainly introduced species: feral pigeons, common starlings and house sparrows. Indian mynas, a big problem on the mainland, are not established in Tasmania.

Can I get help for a bird stuck inside my house or roof?

If it is injured or a native bird, contact a wildlife rescue service or NRE Tas. A proofing business can help close the gap afterwards.

Do you cover Hobart?

This site is focused on Launceston and the Tamar region. See service areas.
